And your point is

The point is if you are not WASP and rich it is nearly impossible it get in the
U.S. legally. I doubt your ancestors had this much trouble becoming legal when
they immigrated. And, if you are of native ancestry, it wasn't until 1924 that
the U.S. granted all natives citizenship. The current system is raciest and
broken and needs to be fixed. Your nation of origin and social status should
have no bearing on eligibility.
In my opinion, if you are willing to contribute and be productive member of
society you should be let in. If you are coming to the U.S. for criminal
purposes or want to live on the dole, don't bother to apply. We have enough of
our own. We don't need more.

"The point is if you are not WASP and rich it is nearly impossible it get
in the U.S. legally."
Why is it that every liberally backed discussion
always has to mention race? Is there really any purpose behind such statements
other than to slyly couch those in opposition to their argument as racists? I
would also take exception to the idea that only rich WASPs get citizenship
rights here as I feel a breakdown of whom is allowed to legally emigrate here
summarily invalidates that point.
"I doubt your ancestors had this much trouble becoming legal when they
immigrated. And, if you are of native ancestry, it wasn't until 1924 that the
U.S. granted all natives citizenship."
Correct, when my ancestors emigrated here in the
early 1800s from England, Ireland, Scotland and Germany pretty much anyone who
made it to shore was welcomed in. So no, there were no legal challenges to their
being allowed in. This realistically has no bearing on existing immigration
laws of today however.
"The current system is raciest and broken and needs to be fixed."
Again with the racists claims. Perhaps you could
enlighten myself and many others to the sections of immigration law that are
indeed racist in nature? Believe it or not most conservatives are against racist
policies too and if such policies exist within our immigration laws you'd likely
find many folks willing to support you assertions, if they are indeed
provable.
"Your nation of origin and social status should have no bearing on
eligibility. In my opinion, if you are willing to contribute and be productive
member of society you should be let in."
Here's where you and I will find a large bone of
contention wolfie.
1. There are far too many places on this ol spinnin orb where America and
Americans are viewed with digust and even outright hatred, meaning every
potential immigrant should be thoroughly screened for exactly what purpose or
reason they have in wanting to emigrate here. We have plenty enough enemies
outside our borders as well as within them. We need to be vigilant to all
threats from outside our borders and as such must be sure not to allow any
discernible further risks within our borders just because they say they
"want" to come in.
2. While social status should have little if any bearing on ones right to
emigrate here, there is most certainly a need on the US' part to insure we as a
society stand to benefit from their immigration. We have more than sufficient
numbers of un/undereducated/unskilled laborers capable of any jobs and as such,
why would we need to allow members of that ilk to further populate our country,
and if so, what derived benefit could we as a nation hope to gain from allowing
immigration of such folks other than as more consumers of the public teat, which
is dryin up faster than water spilled on a siewalk in the hot July sun. WE have
more than enough ditch diggers and McDonalds "chefs" already without
allowing any more in. What we need are doctors, scientists, industrialists and
entrepreneurs, those who genuinely have something beneficial to offer our
society.
3. If you study the well documented topic of immigration by even the numbers
allowed annually by the federal regulations on "legal" immigration
you'd find that even that amount is unsustainable in terms of environmental
impact, immigration numbers vs available jobs, cost of governance vs. tax
dollars collected and last but not least the burden these additional immigrants
place upon our national social services and continued entitlement systems, which
are already at the brink of absolute failure with only our current population
numbers.
"If you are coming to the U.S. for criminal purposes or want to live on the
dole, don't bother to apply. We have enough of our own. We don't need
more."
Hey, agreement at last .... Horaaay
