Across the globe popular responses to the virus have been influenced by
culture. In Australia it's get out of the cities (if you don't live on 1/3 acre
or more - social distancing), as cities are incubators for a virus. Yay Leyand
Brothers! This is less of an issue the further north you go, as corona viruses
work best in cold weather, and here in the southern hemisphere north is warm.
The yank response is in the picture. Last I looked their deaths by firearm were
rising 30% a year, suicides had plateaued and murders were taking up the slack.
What a thing to write, but that's the culture.
Historically, with plague comes famine and war. Here in Australia there are now
more firearm owners (that government knows of) than ever. We're not shooting
our neighbours. We're preparing for war. No one trusts gumbyment - the just
ousted political party is infiltrated by yanks who taught: "if nations
trade with each other they don't fight each other, as they rely on each
other". Only if you're stupid enough to believe this are you welcome in
the party. The stupidity denies history: the German trenches in WWI lined with
British Bluescope Cement bags, the Rolls Royce engines in Panzers, the alleged
purchase of a bombing aiming sight from the British - by the Germans, who paid
for it, in WWII, the frantic trade between warring sides using third parties
(deniable criminal gangs) in the Balkans during the 1990's and now the wheat
trade from Ukraine.
