Agreed. That's also the constitution in Australia. I ran into desperate social climbers on Sydney's North Shore who saw the political party as a means of securing a career. For some of them, society is ruled by a leader! I don't want that type of society.

As for the first two comments, some years back we went for months without any functioning parliament whilst different parties negotiated. A Norwegian politician flew out to advise the smaller parties to take their time - the same thing had happened over there. And guess what? The street lights still worked - we don't rely on the personality of an individual for our Westminster System to function properly. Nor the Norwegians for their system. Just a gentle suggestion: that may be why the internet isn't full of people complaining about them.
