I love the design but something just freaks me out about it. Maybe I'm old fashioned but 2 disks make me feel safer than one.

Yeah, but the diameter of it bein as large as it is makes a helluva lot of difference when compared to even 2 smaller ones acting on an area closer to the center of the axle. Physics 101
