a very attractive Cambodian Iron Single edged Sword dating to 500 AD or
thereabouts. In excavated condition, the blade is complete. The iron handle has
an inner wood sheath enveloped in a decorated bronze outer shell. The hand-guard
between the blade and handle has looped margins. Part of the handle has perished
as shown. The sword greatly resembles in style the much later Japanese swords.
Overall length: 20 3/4 inches. Old English collection.
