The Cradle of Civilization ... now destroyed by the so-called "pinnacle" of civilization.
A fucking historical tragedy.

Jesus, don't make me take up for those Washington D.C., Dumbasses.

Without wishing to appear to do so, let it be said that they'd done a pretty damn fine job of screwing it up themselves. (We just showed 'em how on a bigger scale....)

They haven't managed to do squat in about 3000 years because the only thing they're good at is fighting with each other.

We were stupid to get in the middle of it......

As John Stewart so brilliantly put it:
A "MESS O' POTAMIA"!

If the US were really the war mongering heartless invaders some are trying to portray; the US as we would have just bombed the sh** out of them and left them to suffer. They have spent billions of dollars rebuilding the areas they bombed, and making them a lot better than they were before. I think the only real mistake being made is trying to force the Iraqi's to have a democratic government within the guidlines of the US advisors. A democracy won't work in that type of muslim nation and we should just rebuild and let them govern themselves, it's still their country, or is it?

That's not true, not at all. The US wants something particular.. they don't just bomb people for no reason. There's always a reason. But it is a heartless reason.

Iraqis are *far* from "better than they were before".. We've been bombing them for 16 years now... they are totally, totally fucked.

And no, it's not still their country. They are pawns now. Poor, poor bastards.

AND all the museums have been looted, so everything they had from the previous 3000 years is gone now.. because we opened the door to massive crime. Great. K, thx.

no shit FD, "looting is a capital offense". U R a Gee-nee-us.

Pray tell us, what sort of offense is the fantastic bombing destruction of cities thousands of years old? Hmm?

I agree with fossil digger, and I have been to the region six times. All the significant archaeological artificats are all still buried over there.

Except for oases like Baghdad, the Middle East is a very desolate place, and the inhabitants don't place a lot of importance on preserving their historic architecture. They have very limited resources there, so when they get tired of something, they knock it down and build another structure from the rubble.

Are we forgetting the 35,000+ dead civilians? How about the American soldiers raping and piliging and trying to make innocents look like insurgents by planting weapons? All this cause Sadam tried to kill papa Bush.

sad that some assholes abused their authority there (if true and convicted)
i didn't realize that civilians count as archaeological sites.
to claim that the iraq situation was brought on by personal revenge on W's part is just retardedand quite clueless. the arguement of last resort to discredit W

How old is Baghdad F_D? OR Fallujah? How old is Fallujah? Basra? etc. etc. These cities have been around for hundreds if not thousands of years. And now AMERICAN bombs are fucking them up.

Yes, Iraqi IED bombs are fucking shit up too... But who started it? Who flew the first sorties? Who shoots "depleted uranium" shells? Who drops "daisy cutter" 1000-lb bombs? Who drops illegal cluster bombs? Who drops illegal white phosphorous?

_I_ Wasn't talking about archaeological sites =per se=, I was talking about living cities that are actually, in fact, hundreds or thousands of years old in the same location. Now bombed to dust and rubble. FUCK U... SA.

Oh I give up. U R all "America Uber Alles" aren't you. Bombing another country that did not attack you is WRONG wrong wrong.

Remember: WTC was taken down by SAUDIS... not Iraqi's. Never forget that.

Bomb them at random like the radical muslims.Fuck smart bombs and well thought out raids. Its time for some collateral damage that they will really notice.108101 I guess when we leave it will be heaven over there,no more rapes and no more murders.35,000 dead civilians, shit thats not that much really after years of war.

>Bzzzzt!< Sorry, you lose.
"more collateral damage" will not end anything. You don't get it do you... Outright force will never win. You have to be more man than that. Bigger than that. If you have more power, you have to learn to hold back, and remain mature. Help the less mature grow.

Walking around slamming other people down so that they "will really notice" will only ever breed resentment and revenge. Some has to have the balls to say "Enough." and stand by that while the other side learns to trust you.

Otherwise, there will only ever be terrible war ... and guerilla attacks ... forever.

And the number is closer to 120,000 since 2003. Add to that another 50,000 - 80,000 dead from the "No Fly Zone" bombings of the '90s. We've been bombing Iraq consistantly for over 15 years now.
When are we gonna stop?

136136: who kills innocent civilians on purpose?
not the U.S.A.
who loots their own national treasures? not the U.S.A.
yes these cities have been around for a long time, but what points or historical significance have been destroyed? none i've seen.
46103: i agree that the whole shebang was handled quite irresponsibly (ex: the intense bombing etc...) but the only thing that these peole understand and relate to is complete and utter destruction. it's how they have lived their lives and even modeled their religion after (extremists). they even teach their children this mentality. unfortunately for the iraqis and the middle eastern problem in general the bombings and "occupation" will not end until there are no subversive elements to deal with.
why is there so much trouble in iraq? because the extremist islamists are afraid that peace will come to the middle east without them carrying out their plan of the extinction of a people who they think are pigs and not worthy of anything but death. sounds "familiaritlerish" huh?
don't bother looking that word up, i just made it up.
