Muhammed, like Jesus and God and Buddha and Peace Pilgrim, never wrote anything down.

Anything written comes from the disciples, the followers. The people who 'only heard'. Sometimes even edited by councils hundreds of years later. Or forgotten, and then found, and reinterpreted.

Bullshit fuckheads (eg. Osama, Stalin, Mao, Ceasar, etc.) warp the secondary texts to their own aims. These are the people the fanatical ideas develop from. Just like in every religion.
