I said "Now I use SONY's DSC-F828 with Carl Zeiss's 28-135mm T* optical zoom lens (Digit zoom : 135-200mm). It was about 80,000Yen (about 660 US$). "
BUT...OH! SHIT!

Sony Cybershot DSC F828 | Digital Camera Review | Introduction
Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 digital camera review : Sony, being a non-photo-related brand, really put his stamp on the digital camera market. The past few years Sony has done his utmost to apply diverse innovations into her cameras and so far passed with flying colours. Some years ago, in 1999 to be precise, Sony introduced the Cyber-shot DSC-F505. It was a very different model from the traditional Sony design that we got used to and even were attached to.
Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 - Unique housing
In August 2003 Sony surprised everybody by being the first brand to introduce a digital consumer camera, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F828, with an effective image resolution of 8 Megapixels housed in a similar designed housing as the one with which it all started back in 1999. Until now the housing of the camera can be referred to as being unique. It sounds a bit harsh but: "Either you hate it, or you love it." In practice I have observed the reactions from the consumer and it really comes down to that.
Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 - High resolution
The 8 Megapixels became a reality last year; at least the first camera was actually available in the last month of 2003. This high resolution was received sceptically by a number of critics. You can discuss it if you want, but in fact the evolution of digital photography is happening very rapidly and can't be stopped anymore. So now we have reached the high resolution of 8 Megapixels, a resolution that is sufficient so far and meets the needs of the majority of the consumers. Enlargements of a crop, enhanced image editing and poster sized images belong to the possibilities of a camera like the Sony Cybershot DSC-F828.
Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 - Features
Beside this high resolution the camera features practically all the latest innovations concerning focus, optics and settings. The Sony connoisseurs didn't just get one surprise when the 8 Megapixels were introduced in August 2003, the fact that the Cybershot DSC-F828 is equipped with a dual memory slot , which means that beside supporting the Memory Stick and Memory Stick PRO memory cards also the CompactFlash format is supported, was just as surprising.
Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 - Popular digital camera
The Cyber-shot DSC-F828 is a popular camera, and not only for the sales. The sample I used during my short trip to Spain, was welcomed with open arms on my return at Schiphol Airport, to be used again straight away at a national event. At least I had my time to get acquainted with this digital force. My experiences are described in the following review.

Price...$1,479.99!!!

Great camera, Tommy. I really like mine. In many ways, it does everything a digital SLR can, is far more flexible and portable, and the Zeiss lens is superb.
