5.4 litter super charge. It can out run a ferrari I have the same motor in my truck but not supper charged.

The original GT 40 is one of my all time favorite dream cars.

Here's an interesting story : The president of Ford europe was given a one-off street version GT 40 as a personal car to drive. After 2 yrs Ford corporate asked him if he'd like to buy it. When asked how much they told him $2000.00 and he turned it down !

He later wrote this was the biggest error regarding a car purchase he ever made !

Just as a clarification, the Ford exec mentioned was pres. during the late 60s - early 70s when Ford was LeMans racing the GT 40s, not recently.

BTW, anyone know the "why" hehind the creation of the GT 40s originally ?

Come on FD, that's a bit vague. There was a specific reason the GT 40s were built for racing at LeMans.

i was wrong i don't have a pic loaded already but i think it was the 250 ferrari. i do have a couple to load if you wish though.
also ford was pissed when they tried to buy out ferrari and the deal fell through, i ythink pappi enzo decided he didn't want an american company owning his baby.
