Buddhism isn't about "forgiving" "sin".. it's about quieting your neurotic mind down and living your life more purely than you have this far. It's about recognizing why we suffer, and having compassion for our fellow sufferers.

I agree with John, Buddhism is about the mind, about freeing oneself from desire, the cause of suffering. The trick is figuring out how. The "pagan" is the one who kills innocent beings, quite often 'christians'.
