I think the deal with fake news is not so much to do with political bias. Some of the above sounds like cat lady conspiracy theories to me.
I think the deal with fake news is that news is not news anymore, it's entertainment and it competes for clicks and advertising revenue like everything else on TV and the internet. So fake news is exactly that, it's made up, it's not real and it's easy to see. Sensationalism is the new norm, even for traditionally conservative news organisations, they need the revenue.
