Jgoin I'm guessing if your kids weren't exposed to others dysfunctions etc
they wouldn't feel a need to be doing the same things as them.
That's one thing that has not changed over the years.
You have all sorts of peer pressures in teen groups, from drinking alcohol to cigs, dope and harder drugs
right thru to car theft, rape, robbery or something that starts out as harmless as a selfie with their clothes on till
someone put the mental blackmail on them to post selfies with no clothes on and it only gets worse from there.

However, the peer pressure can come from whoever's closest to them in the neighborhood
not just from schools or other groups. It's like that old saying of "keeping up with the Jones's"
