I guess in short younger people today need a lot of validation. That is a need I never understood, I wasn't raised that way. Right or wrong I was raised to be independent and not need any friends or their validation. I have friends but can survive perfectly well without any and alone. My kids were raised the same way but they also need validation from the internet and I don't know why they feel the need for it.
