Either because of their upbringing or an expensive drug habit etc.

So many teenage girls ended up there because they were desperate,
not because they thought it would be an awesome career.

The script writers for the movie "Boogie Nights" somewhat had their finger on the pulse.
In the 70's, the porn industry including the model's agents were sleazy and abusive unlike today's porn agents,
where the models belong to unions and have workers rights on their side.

But the actual sex seemed to be far more real back then when being filmed and photographed.

Too fake these days.
