Maybe people can let go of the past if the media and the government can drop the slavery issue and let it just be forgotten. As long as everyone is reminded about slavery in the past there will be those who think they are owed something for it and as long as the government keeps handing out rights and money to blacks for the past then whites will continue to think they should be given something as well. Equality is one thing but when equality goes to far to one side then it is just wrong and not equal. What we have is a Mexican standoff, no one can put down their gun first because the other will shoot them.
