Right on, and yet dead wrong at the same time 'berto, whatta conundrum eh?

The eggs most people eat come from chicken farms where the chickens don't ever get a chance to get nailed by the roosters and are indeed unfertilized.

The ones from our chickens however who comingle daily with the roosters are indeed often fertilized eggs. The only difference is I collect 'em daily and don't allow the hens to hatch 'em out into chics.

Some folks claim fertilized eggs are healthier, contain more nutrients and such. I make no claim to know one way or the other but I will telllya the eggs our free range and organically fed hens produce are the yummiest I've ever had.

I've compared our eggs to store bought ones side by side in a bowl and the differences are stark to say the least. Our hens egg yolks are almost orange compared to the pale yellow ones that come from the store.

Just started messin with chickens this past summer and haddn had a chance to eat any of them yet but my guess is they'll problee taste better than the store bought variety once I finally get to sample one of 'em.

I feed 'em a lil bit of organic feed and cracked corn every mornin when I let 'em out, then they forage for worms, bugs and fresh grass/weed shoots all day till I put 'em up just before dark.
