Well, I have to stand semi-corrected on this one. I do recall that SIMMs were around while 286s were still being produced and in use but I was primarily thinking of the 286 boards with DIP chip memory. Anyway, your numbers are still not quite right, that would be 256K not 246K but whatever. It just seems to me that for someone claiming to know so much about computers that those numbers would not be a point of confusion, but whatever.
Unlike you, I am a stickler for details. The devil is in the details as the saying goes. People get screwed up on details and wind up making bad decisions too often as a result.
