The so called "war on drugs" has filled the prisons and made the streets run with the blood of gang members & innocents caught in the crossfire, yet there is still a drug problem in the U.S. It's caused even greater bloodletting over the border in Mexico because the profits can be so huge in the illegal trade. The government learned nothing from prohibition. On the plus side for me personally, it provides my oldest son, a state corrections officer, with a job, though I worry a lot about him.
