"I" broke "em? I guess if pluggin a receiver into the wall and connectin a left and right channel speaker to the back can somehow "break" a receiver, maybe I did. 'Course if you don't power 'em up or hook a pair of speakers to a receiver I do kinda wonder how one would ever expect to do anything with one?

Nah, never laid a wrench on fossils 'Stang, it was already highly tweaked when he got it. Though there were some things we kicked around doin to it, we never got the chance disappointed smiley

I read stuff all the time about the depth and warmth of music off LPs and all I can say is ..... BS! There are so many variables in the mix when playin an LP that impact or can impact the output quality and even when playin an LP for the very 1st time and having taken every sensible precaution before playin it, using a nice light, quality cartridge and adjusting the tone arm balance and anti-skate settings to the Nth degree ,,,, there were still clicks and pops that in the old days were just accepted as a part of the process.

When I fire up Rhythmbox and scroll down the list to find what I wanna hear, then push play I'm greeted with exactly what I want, when I want it, no muss, no fuss and the sound quality from my 'puters 7.1 audio card pumped through even the simple Dell/Altec Lansing sub/amp then out to the cheesy lil Aiwa speakers I've been usin lately is pretty damned good.

LPs are how I got started bein able to listen to my fave tunes, but these days .... gimme digital files rock on
