That explains why I didn remember the engine you mentioned, nor the other variants in the article ... we never got 'em

Just imagine what those engines might have been able to do with a DIS w/individual coil packs, fuel injection and a 4 valve DOHC set up w/some bad boy cams

When I was playin around in the early/mid 90s with my 74 Ford Capri w/ a 2.0L inline 4 w/ a SOHC hemi head w/ solid lifters and made about 85hp (which I eventually tweaked to about 150hp), Holbay Engineering in England had a DOHC head version that used a pair of Weber 45 DCOEs and an electronic distributor race engine model that was puttin out over 300hp as an NA engine

I wanted one of those DOHC heads soooo badly but couldn come up with the $6k they wanted for 'em as a bare head with a set of cams and followers, which I'd have still had to have built my own intake and exhaust mannies for, since they didn offer those for sale.

Of course all this is why I fell instantly in love w/the Mitsu 2.0s as they had a 4 valve DOHC hemi head w/roller cam followers, a DIS, extremely efficient injection w/ a pretty good stock intake manny and a similarly decent cast iron header all managed with a really efficient ECU and all this on their base model 2.0L 4 banger
