It's still a crap example. I'd say why replace the dog with anything, just shoot the dog and find something new to do. And honestly the American two party system needs exactly that.

Don't get me wrong, we fundamentally have a 2 party system here too (with a 3rd party growing in popularity which I wish would fuck off too), but the 2 party system is badly flawed.
