He only got to Mach 0.8066 not "almost" Mach 0.9 if you run it thru a calculator.

Also the actual sound barrier is going to be somewhat different at different temperatures and humidity and not exactly 768 MPH and that number is only approximate for dry air at sea level at 68 F. Either way, I wouldn't want to be breaking the sound barrier with my body, even in a space suit.
