The same sort of thing is true of all religious scriptures that I am familiar with. It is impossible to take them literally, yet here in our great modern world with all the scientific and technological advances human beings are still just plain fucking stupid and will continue to believe in absolutely impossible things and continue to wage wars over that shit.

I'll be honest and plain with you. I believe in God (for lack of a better term) but not in religion and anyone who thinks they've got the God thing figured out is an arrogant piece of shit. I believe there are some good things that can be learned from the world's scriptures but in the final analysis they are just books. They are not magical or holy. They are books and not even very well written books at that.
