It's not so much that hurricanes hit often, they don't, only one bad one here since I've been here and just two in my lifetime, and though there's enough warning in advance to prepare for them, there's a lot of mental stress involved in watching multiple storms each season that are headed in your general direction for days, wondering if it's your turn again. I'm better this year but for the last two hurricane seasons I was just this side of being an invalid, hurting and not able to move very well, and it was very stressful feeling so helpless when I'm also responsible for looking after my mom who is incapable of dealing with something like that anymore. But for six or seven months a year, it's paradise and we only see frost usually two or three times a year. I did see snow flurries once on Christmas morning 1989.
