I live in Florida, a land populated mostly by people who've come from somewhere else, bringing their customs (and some bad habits) with them. We also have a lot of people who only winter here and spend the rest of the year "up north." My neighbor lady, who just last week went "back home" (this is the time of year of the mass exodous), doesn't realize how ridiculous she sounds crying poverty when she can afford to have two homes and travel between them several times a year. I'm not a native either but have spent my entire adult life here, almost 32 years, arriving a couple of months before I turned 20, and I don't mind the folks who bring their own customs with them but get truly riled up when they are fresh arrivals or part timers and want everything tailored to suit them. That goes for legals and illegals alike; there are a lot of great people who come here but there are a fair number of dillweeds who show up as well.
