Considering that the Mayan civilization practiced some pretty weird religious crap like human sacrifice my guess is yeah, they were full of shit. On the other hand the people who really believe the world ends when the Mayan calendar ends and make up far fetched ideas about what it all means are full of shit too. Now hand me those 3 frog hearts and the vial of virgin blood, my computer is acting up...
