Yeah that was a Hacintosh machine I picked up. It had the right hardware to accommodate the OS and make it all work out. I picked it up for $200 so
The only hardware I've seen yet that Ubuntu had any real problems dealin with is ATI video cards. Wireless cards that work outta the box are a short list too, but if you know that before you buy 'em it dudn much matter.
And ... when you have problems in Ubuntu there's a lot of online support for it which is very beneficial when you're as talented as myself at tearin up an OS
