That makes some sense, thanks. When I was in the Navy it was interesting to watch F4 Phantoms shoot off the cat on a carrier. It actually would be in a stall and momentarily drop out of sight just below the bow of the flight deck. You could feel the tension in the air until the aircraft became visible again.
