I saw a similar thing happen in the Navy in the `70s. An A6 had a very hard landing on the USS Kitty Hawk. It caught the wire at too high attitude and slammed onto the deck forcing the front landing gear strut into the cockpit. Thankfully the crew were not injured but I bet they had to change clothes after that one.
