For years I used a Sharpie marker to write reminders to myself on my hand because often paper was unavailable or inconvenient when I needed to remember something while having the Sharpie was part of my job for marking boxes. Don't know why Palin does it but to me it's just one more way that she shows she's a regular person and not another political hack.
