I wish my memory of the details of the following account were more clear but I remember reading a comment from the leader of one of the African nations to whom the accords in Copenhagen had initially intended to be able to dole out a sweet $30,000,000,000 payment to and he was saying that $30 billion was just far too small a figure and that if that figure weren't increased to $100 billion there would be no way they would be willing to accept it.

I'd be willing to bet that $30 billion would have probably covered most if not all of their whole annual national budget, but oh no, that's just not a reasonable figure? And what exactly would his country have been responsible for having done with all that cash?

One base issue I have with this whole international taxation accord process is : since when does ANY international organizations decision to levy a tax upon people of any individual nation have any validity? How is it that any such organization would have a legal right to levy taxes on the US, Canada, India or any other country?

The short and sweet answer to the above question is When The Leader Of The Country Agrees To It And Signs An International Accord that then holds the citizens of their nation accountable for that signature, That's When!

Had all the leaked emails not surfaced regarding the manipulation of one of the major bodies of "scientific work" used to assert the claims of those like Al Gore and indeed our illustrious prez. just in the nick of time which then led to crawfishing on the whole conference by Gore and Obama you can just about rest assured he WOULD have signed onto the accord. Wisely he understood with his public opinion already at an all time low, that wouldn't have played out so well in light of the scandal so he chose to back down from outright acceptance of it all.

Of course with a treasury that's devoid of any possibility to just whip out the billions that he'd have agreed for the US to have pledged with his signature it would have made a great tool to come back home afterwards and proclaim to the American public that passing his damned Cap N Tax BS would now simply HAVE to be adopted so we could pay it hot smileyhot smileyhot smiley
