Yep lex I knew when I read your claim it was more than highly unlikely you actually managed such a data transfer rate and here's the proof: :[lyberty.com] the upshot of which is shown below since I know how you despise having to actually read anything eye rolling smiley

[6] SATA Drive Transfer Speeds, in Bytes (real, as opposed to fuzzy, math):

Note that these speeds are for the interface (parallel interface), and is limited by (among other things)
the physical (hardware) speed of the disk drive.
As an example, Western Digital's fastest SATA drive (2005) has about a 68 MB/s Buffer to Disk sustained (write) speed...

*ACTUAL speeds for a single SATA-drive, in personal read & write tests, range from around 41 MBytes/s to 91 MB/s (peak). (Note the buffer-to-disk-limitation.)

My machine is not quite state of the art but it's close to as good as you can build these days (a constantly moving target) and having watched the data transfer rates climb higher and higher over the years I also knew that 59.2mbps is pretty damned fast.

Maybe you've figured a way to bend the laws of physics and manage 1gig per second, but I highly doubt it.

Nice try though monty smiles
