To be honest I'm not too fussed about the operating systems I use. I have a lot of involvement in a wide variety.
The laptop I'm typing this on is a macbook air, osx 10.5.8. My desktop is running Windows 7 x64. My fileserver runs a customised Linux kernel, as does my other box. My other laptop is a Toshiba running windows xp.
All of the website stuff runs Linux, a number of different hardware platforms.
At work, I'm an infrastructure designer. As part of that I design and maintain a fleet of 300 sun servers running solaris 10 unix.
Every machine I use has a specific task, and the operating system chosen is chosen for that task. In my case, I wouldn't have anything other than Windows on my desktop. I don't use xwindows (gnome/kde/cde/whatever), I honestly hate it. I'm a command line unix/linux user only.
