There have been some changes in the last couple of years, but British teeth are so comically bad, because they had "free" dental care under NHS. I know someone who was a dental assistant in Scotland. By the time people could get an appointment, there was no option but to pull the teeth. She spent a year pulling rotten, stinking, disgusting teeth, for wages that were insultingly low. Just walked away from it, one day, and became a BA flight attendant.
