It's actually not quite true.. if you look at the image numbers we're over 55,000 images uploaded, so we should've broken 40,000 a long time ago.
With the site splits (plus613 to porn613 etc) and a number of deleted images etc, we're only now OFFICIALLY at 40,000 images online, right now.
