Two things:
First, that's not a chicken bone, and,
Second, bird bones don't splinter until you cook them. Dogs eat chickens all the time, and wild dogs eat all kinds of birds. Whenever I have whole chickens or turkeys, I always give my dog the necks, and it doesn't hurt her at all. Dozens of them over the years. It's like Heaven to them.
