I have always been in favor of a flat tax or sales tax only instead of the hole ridden income tax. The IRS is too powerful and will never allow anything to come into being which will do away with their jobs. Congress knows already that sales tax will work but they are under the thumb of IRS and are not willing to change the status quo.
