"The cost of each air vehicle averaged US$737 million in 1997 dollars.[3] Total procurement costs averaged US$929 million per plane, which includes spare parts, equipment, retrofitting, and software support.[3] The total program cost, which includes development, engineering and testing, averaged US$2.1 billion per aircraft (in 1997 dollars)." Full article here -> [en.wikipedia.org]

Let's start with what the House version of the Obamacare program costs are being touted at which is $1.2 trillion. This is the more expensive number of all the plans and such, but with the government at the helm, you can damned well bet even that figure is modest in terms of what it will eventually cost, so let's stay with this figure as a kind of median number to attempt to work this from.

Now for some perspective

Obamacare Program : $1,200,000,000,000
20 plane fleet of B-2s : $42,000,000,000

I dunno, I mean I'm just an old Texan, but I was always taught more zeros made a number larger than one with fewer zeros. Anyway, in doing the math it looks like we would have to up the fleet of B-2s to a total of 571 of 'em to reach the same figure as the (proposed) cost of this "National Healthcare Plan". Of course we aren't going to build 551 more B-2s so it's all kinda irrelevant anyway, meaning the argument posed above is similarly irrelevant, and a bit obtuse I might add.

Anyone thinking health care for the country, with politicians writing the policy requirements/determinations and deciding reasonable cost effective benefit plans, then meting it out through down stream chains of bureacrasies is gonna be good for anyone but the people making bank off of handling it all is a damned fool.

Ask any American with a brain how to totally fuck anything up and the answer you'll find most frequently is "Let the government run it!".

The grand puppetmaster has already been quoted as saying if it were his family members medical problems he would not limit the care given to them by the limitations of his program. Oh yeah dude, way to sell it!

If, and mind you, this is the big IF that's never gonna happen, no matter what, but IF the same people writing our laws regarding healthcare/medicare/medicaide/social security and retirement programs were required to use these things, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, no ifs ands or buts, they JUST MIGHT create legislation that made sense both economically and socially.

So ... here's a personal shout out to all the idiots out there that think government controlled and mandated health care will ever be reasonable, affordable or practical in its implementation or scope. Here's a big high hard one just for each and every fuckin one of ya (*finger3*)

And, as a final tribute here's one more. I'll bend right the fuck over and show you exactly where to kiss it (*butt*)
