Unfortunately they fell into the same trap that a lot of alternative fuel cars do and made it look like a child's toy. If they made them look more like regular cars people would be more likely to want one, and with demand comes profit. I believe the 35 mph limit is a safety issue as the frame won't pass faster car standards.
