Yeah, but the 1st example seems correct as it's a contraction of "Mrkim and is" = Mrkim's which makes sense to me as it's essentially sayin Mrkim "is" gettin his car modded, I don't see that as a plural of Mrkim.
It's the Mrkims' version that I've never have been able to get a handle on
