If snow fell here it would be the lead item on the news and front page of the papers.
They get it down south in winter, but not here.
It's still only a 2 and a bit hour drive to the ski fields, although at this time of the year the more important fact is that it's only an hour to the beach - east coast for golden sands and safe swimming, west coast for surf.
