always used this keystroke whenever i am on a winblows machine and pluged in a thumb drive rather than wait a year for the popup asking if i would care to use explorer to view the contents... this keystroke opens explorer from the root dir...never thought to do this though, i guess it creates to many instances of explorer and being that the os is already poor at conserving memory from processes and is not really a multi-tasking system in the first place
