Right. I don't give speeches because I am not into bombastic ideas, I don't do motivational speaking and I am only into politics as a spectator (and voter). I say I am a good speaker because I did software trainings before large groups for several years and people told me that I was a good speaker (read as "not quite as boring as the last guy"winking smiley. So I do not flatter myself that I should be there speaking instead of him, but only that no one would show up if i did and I would not be invited back (and rightly so). Equally, he would stop being invited if all the auditoriums were empty.

Instead, he gets to say to his sympathizers that he was once again treated rudely by the college-based liberal establishmnet. If he went somewhere and was thorughly ignored, he might keep that to himself -- or but an add in the NY Times.
