Without a doubt, this is a tragic scene. However, the picture is almost certainly the result of a Sunni suicide truck bomber that exploded in a Shiite market place. It happens with horrifying regularity, killing mostly women and children. The irony of this post is that if the U.S. suddenly withdrew their troops, there would be a civilian bloodbath as various Arab factions would be free to use indiscriminate violence to gain power. Hundreds of thousands of civilians would die. The U.S. would then be blamed for not preventing this.
