I think I could do it while they were still kittens. Cats always know I mean them no harm. The challenge comes as they get older (and bigger!)
The guy I knew that had an adult had resued her as a kitten when he found her beside her Mom (who had been hit by a car) and then raised her. He said she was a great pet.
