Yeah 'Lando, but just remember where the war started with 5,ooo Mescans and just over 100 Texans at the Alamo. And .... after the Alamo was finally overrun by Santa Annas troops they killed everyone, even the sick and wounded, leaving NO ONE and NOTHING alive, not even the animals.

This slaughter at the Alamo essentially sealed the Texans resolve to rise up in greater numbers and defeat Santa Anna which they did quickly and handily at San Jacinto and yep, there were plenty of Mexicans that fought alongside the Texans for the very same reasons as the Texans did, though many were said to have fought simply because they despised Santa Anna.

One last little tid bit. Santa Anna (depending on whose version of the incident you read) was said to have been captured wearing a dress and using a scarf to cover his head. He had abandonded his men during the battle and was trying to slip away disguised as a woman.

Though Santa Anna and his troops had made a name for themselves in their march across Texas as rapists and for having killed men, women and children in trying to place fear in the hearts of the Texan forces, he KNEW Texan troops would not be suspicious of, nor mistreat a woman and hoped to use this idea to help him escape.

Texas trivia 101 ! Maybe next time we'll discuss where the term "gringo" got its start. Another interesting tale, to be sure thumbs down
