I've always thought this curious too. I love the coast and have many fond memories of the breeze comin in off the ocean and how amazing that feels, walkin on the beach and playin in the surf, but ..... I've always known what an equally dangerous place it can be to be so close to this same wonder.
To me, it would be magical to live on the coast, but ..... the "safe and sane" side of me chooses to live off an inland lake instead
