this was years ago @ lake skinnaeatlas (sp.) up-state N.Y.
water is crystal clear 30-35 feet. colder'n....year round. went snorklin' down a wall 50 yards in 6-7 feet water and felt all the time like i was being watched. from the shore? the water? i turned around and about 20 feet away was huge lake trout. had to be 20 lbs.+. i tried to move as little as possible, he/she (i think now, it was spring eye rolling smiley) flashed a few times while circling me the fluttered twice and was gone.

i had a helluva time figurin' out how to get the sail up (while being yelled at from the shore) when i finally got going i was going straight out to the middle of the lake....OH SHIT! HOW DO YOU TURN?
in my mind i'm thinking sunfish "O.K. sunfish....?" no help. jump off, turn the damn thing around and head back. phew!
