Oh please, the ones who fucked that up were the assholes who built the damn thing. Politics didn't come into play on that one, just shitty ass engineers. We had something similar (an engineering screw up) in my own hometown. A two lane exit/entrance ramp for our local interstate. Well, we only use one of the lanes because the bridge was built wrong and can't support two lanes of traffic. Idiots.
