Bridge failures are nothing new. They have been occurring since the very first bridge was ever constructed, which was eons before George W. Bush became POTUS.

If there is any blame to be placed, it is squarely with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, as it is their responsibility to have the bridges in that state fully inspected by competent and experienced structural engineers every two years (yearly would be even better), and not by some marginally competent affirmative action beneficiary who was hired for reasons other than his/her/its qualifications. I have seen this sort of thing happen first hand, and on more than one occasion, right here in Georgia.

According to reports I am hearing, that bridge was showing signs ten years ago that there were problems.

Of course, this won't stop the democrats from trying to gain some type of political advantage from this tragedy, as these people have no moral scrupals whatsoever.
